Role of the Inventory and Warehouse Manager
The Inventory and Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing Kyte Powertech’s inventory levels.
This includes planning, organising, and controlling inventory flow to ensure the right products are available at the right time, at the right place and in the right quantity.
The Inventory and Warehouse Manager reports to the Head of Supply Chain and works closely with Planning, Sourcing, Purchasing, Logistics and Warehouse staff to maintain optimal inventory levels, reduce excess stock, prevent stockouts, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Inventory and Warehouse management is a key pulse in the heart of Kyte’s manufacturing process. The Inventory and Warehouse Manager combines analytical skills with operational insight to balance supply and demand across the warehousing operation, reduce costs, and support overall supply chain objectives.

Goals of the Inventory and Warehouse Manager
Manage and Develop the Warehouse Team through the Warehouse Team Leader
- Establish Standard Work Routines for Warehouse Processes.
- Set standards and monitor compliance to those standards.
- Develop and maintain Training programmes for the Warehouse Team.
- Maintain Optimal Inventory Levels
- Ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet customer demand without leading to overstock or understock situations.
- Improve Inventory Accuracy
- Minimise discrepancies between recorded and actual inventory through regular audits, cycle counting activity, reconciliations, and system updates.
- Reduce Inventory Costs
- Lower holding, ordering, and stockout costs by optimising procurement and storage strategies.
- Enhance Operational Efficiency
- Streamline inventory processes to improve turnaround time, reduce errors, and increase productivity in warehousing and distribution.
- Support Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure product availability and timely fulfilment of production kitting orders to maintain high levels of customer service.
Objectives of the Inventory and Warehouse Manager
- Lead and Develop the Warehouse Team.
- Manage Inventory Control Systems: Deploy and maintain systems (e.g. SAP ERP) to track inventory in real-time and generate actionable reports.
- Monitor Kanban Stock Levels and Reorder Points: Set and adjust minimum and maximum stock levels and reorder points to trigger timely replenishments.
- Conduct Regular Audits and Cycle Counts: Perform scheduled inventory checks to verify accuracy and identify shrinkage or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Suppliers and Logistics: Maintain strong vendor relationships and coordinate deliveries to ensure timely restocking.
- Minimise Waste and Obsolescence: Manage product shelf life and rotate stock effectively to reduce expired or obsolete items.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain safety standards in storage and handling.
Requirements for the Role:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma with focus on Inventory or Warehouse Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or Operations Management.
Relevant Experience:
2–5 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations including a proven track record of –
- Managing stock control systems.
- Handling procurement or purchasing requirements.
- Using enterprise resource planning (ERP) or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Leading and setting goals for performance and operational improvement.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Technical:
- Proficiency in inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
- Understanding of barcoding, RFID, or automated inventory systems.
- Familiarity with lean or just-in-time (JIT) practices.
- Knowledge of international logistics and import/export regulations.
- Experience with sustainability or green supply chain practices.
Analytical:
- Demand forecasting.
- Data interpretation.
- PDCA/8D Improvement Cycles.
- RCA for inventory issues.
Organisational:
- Ability to manage multiple stock locations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Time management under tight deadlines.
Communication & Leadership:
- Leading warehouse or logistics staff.
- Coordinating across departments (e.g., sales, procurement, finance).
- Negotiating with suppliers or service providers.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making:
- Handling inventory discrepancies or supply disruptions quickly.
- Making cost-effective stocking decisions.
